21st Century Techniques and Technologies to Measure Skills and Knowledge

12th November 2008 at the Grosvenor Hilton Hotel, EDINBURGH

Welcome : Assessment Tomorrow Edinburgh 2008

Following on the success of both the first conference in 2006 and the second conference in 2007, and once again working in collaboration with SQA, we are delighted to announce the third Scottish conference on 21st Century Techniques and Technologies for Assessment. The conference examines the practical aspects of implementing e-Assessment including Computer Based Testing and e-Portfolios in education, training and professional development.

Managed by Assessment Tomorrow Ltd., the conference boasts an impressive line-up of authoritative speakers from education and industry. The programme included a key note address from SQA and chaired by Emeritus Professor Cliff Beevers, OBE, Director of the CALM Project for Computer Aided Learning in Mathematics and director of the Scottish Centre for Research into On-Line Learning and Assessment, School of Mathematical and Computing Sciences, Heriot-Watt University

For those using, or considering using, ICT

  • to measure the skills & knowledge of candidates taking formal academic or professional qualifications,
  • or taking advantage of the flexibility and effectiveness of the technology to record and assess learning,
  • or for continuing professional development of staff, even using it to appraise employees and candidates,

e-Assessment offers exciting and innovative approaches to otherwise costly or inflexible assessment of learners, students or employees.
